Manage instructional classifications

Select Catalog > Resource Search

To manage your instructional classifications

1. If you are not on the Edit Resource page, then follow the steps in the blue title bar.
2. Find the resource you want, and then click Details. The Resource Details tab appears.
3. Click Edit.
4. Make changes as needed.
5. If none of the instructional classifications apply, click Other…. The Manage Instructional Classifications page appears.
6. Make your selections accordingly.

Use this list to select the applicable instructional classification:

Can have a barcode lets you assign, not assign, and remove barcodes.

Never have a barcode prevents anyone from assigning barcodes to the items and prevents Destiny from importing or uploading items with barcode numbers. You cannot select this option if this resource has any existing barcoded items. If checked out, these items need to be checked in through Patron Status or globally.

Are consumable prevents anyone from assigning barcodes to the items. Destiny only accepts counts for these items. If checked out, they are automatically deleted on their due date.

7. To create a new instructional classification, type a name in the Name field, and then click Save. The Edit Resource page appears.
8. Do either of the following, as needed:

• To edit an instructional classification, click . Make the necessary changes, and then click Save.
• To delete an instructional classification, click . Follow the prompts.
