You can perform a remote library checkout with a Follett scanning device that has Follett Remote installed on it, or from a computer that does not have Destiny installed.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have set up remote circulation. See Remote Circulation.

Note: The steps that follow cover how to perform a remote circulation checkout using a Follett device with Follett Remote installed. If you are performing a remote circulation from a computer, the Follett Remote interface is slightly different from the Follett device to the computer. |
To perform a remote library circulation:
- On the Follett device with Follett Remote installed, double-click Follett Remote.
- Select Function > Library > Circulation > Checkout.
- Click Checkout. The cursor appears in the Patron field.
- From the patron barcode label report you printed out, scan the applicable patron barcode.
- In the Book field, scan the copy(ies) the patron is checking out.
- To begin a check out for a new patron, click New.
- Repeat the above steps for all copies for the patron.
- When you are done checking out copies, upload the circulation activity to Destiny. For details, see Remote circulation upload to Destiny.
